Ryan Hale
Project Director/Archaeologist

Ryan A. Hale is a Registered Professional Archaeologist and joined the team at GSRC as a Project Director in 2018. Mr. Hale has over twelve years of archaeological field and laboratory experience in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. His research interests include Lower Mississippi Valley archaeology, threatened and endangered coastal sites, lithic technologies, ceramic production, historical archaeology of New Orleans and historic preservation.

Mr. Hale has worked as a professional archaeologist contributing to cultural resource projects in sixteen states throughout the Southeast and Midwest United States. These archaeological endeavors include numerous Phase I surveys, Phase II investigations, and Phase III data recovery efforts. Mr. Hale has participated in as well as performed supervisory roles in numerous large and small-scale projects including the recovery of human remains, National Register site eligibility testing, data recovery efforts, and construction monitoring.

Mr. Hale is also trained to employ an array of geophysical instruments and software utilized in the identification and interpretation of archaeological sites and features as well as GIS spatial analyses for regional interpretations and project logistics.

Mr. Hale received a Master of Science in Cultural Resource Management Archaeology from St. Cloud State University. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Kent State University.
