Lauren Solomon
Ornithologist / Wildlife Biologist

Lauren has over 10 years of experience working on avian research projects throughout the United States, as well as in Costa Rica, Australia, and Mexico. Lauren has experience working on a wide range of projects and with a wide variety of bird species including songbirds, shorebirds, and raptors. Her field experience ranges from migration monitoring of raptors in New Mexico, demographic studies of Piping Plovers in South Dakota, to point count surveys in south Florida and Colorado, and territory mapping of breeding birds along the Lower Colorado River in Arizona and California. In addition, Lauren has worked in several states along the Gulf Coast surveying for Piping Plovers following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and on demographic projects researching a variety of species including Wood Thrush in Indiana, Prothonotary Warbler in Louisiana, and the Red-backed Fairy-Wren in northern Australia. Lauren also spent several years working on the Hawaiian island of Kaua‵i studying the behavior and demographics of the Puaiohi, an endangered single-island endemic.

Lauren received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University and her Masterís of Science in Biology from Eastern Illinois University.
