Heather Hughes
Restoration Ecologist

Heather Hughes joined GSRC in 2017 as a Restoration Ecologist and has over seven years of experience in field biology. She has worked in the southeastern United States, Alaska, California, the Caribbean and South America. Primarily Ms. Hughes has focused her efforts on natural resource management through science-driven strategies and has worked in the field removing invasive plants, planting native species, and gathering data on wildlife use of various ecosystems. Her expertise is in avian and herpetological monitoring as well as invasive plant control and ecological restoration.

Ms. Hughes graduated Auburn University with a Bachelorís of Science in Wildlife Biology as well as a Bachelorís of the Arts in the Spanish Language. She is currently continuing her education with the University of California San Diego pursuing a certification in the California Environmental Quality Act.
